Black Robe: The Kempo/Kajukenbo Connection is a publication of Hawaii martial artist David Tavares' 46 year journey in the Kempo system. It entails the beginnings of his instructor (Joe Emperado's most prized warrior) Professor Walter L.N. Godin's Kajukenbo training, but most importantly describes in detail the nearly sixty year unsolved murder mystery of his instructor, Joe Emperado. David TavaresDavid Tavares is an 8th Degree Tavares Chinese Kempo/ 8th Degree Ordonez Kajukenbo Ohana. He started his martial arts training in June 1971 at the Godin’s School of Self-Defense Pacific Palisades branch in Pearl City, Hawaii.
